Airy Romantic Versaille Inspired Bedrooms
Sunday, May 18, 2014
These vintage inspired bedrooms are so dreamy to me. I adore French inspired styles, but to be honest, usually don't care for overly done/overly stuffed French style. I've seen some photos of Marie Antoinette's Royal Apartment and I'm just like "Yikes, too much! Simplify girl! Minimize!" I do adore her color choices though, but then again, there's nothing quite like that French blue!

Georgia O'Keeffe's Minimalist Desert Home
Sunday, January 26, 2014
I first happened upon a photo of the artist Georgia O'Keeffe's home on Pinterest and immediately had to search for more photos! There is so much to love about Georgia O'Keeffe's desert home in New Mexico. The artist kept her home and studio very bare and minimal. I love how clean and sparse everything is and yet still so warm and so inviting. I'm very partial to desert landscapes and elements of the desert, so her home speaks to one of my interior design sentiments. (Because as you know, there are multiples)
Atelier | Tiffany Tuttle Los Angeles Workshop
Thursday, September 13, 2012
I am always so inspired by other people's workspaces and ateliers that I decided I'm going to start posting some of the ones I find on here to share with all of you. And retail shops too. I love combining interior design, vintage, and fashion all together which is probably one of the reasons I move around my vintage work studio all the time.
Today I'm featuring shoe designer Tiffany Tuttle's workspace in downtown Los Angeles. I have to wonder how big her workspace is as most of the photos are of her mood boards (albeit they are really super cool). My own work studio for Adored Vintage is pretty small at perhaps 250sq ft. Maybe it's a bit bigger than that...but it's pretty cramped feeling sometimes.

I love the fencing mask in her atelier. It's such an odd and beautiful thing to have in a work studio. Sometimes I wonder what certain objects in workspaces mean to someone. Like, what about it inspires them to create and be productive?

Vintage Inspired Homes | Poppy de Villeneuve's Apartment
Wednesday, August 1, 2012
If you have a name like Poppy de Villenueve you're bound to have a lovely vintage inspired apartment. Something pretty of course and probably a bit quirky. I adore Poppy's Quirky Brooklyn Apartment featured on Refinery29. The wood table, the dried flowers everywhere, the good old fashioned architectural details in the living room... what's your favorite part about it?

Do you have certain things that inspire you as a photographer?
"The ordinary, quiet, overlooked things — people living well and thinking about success in response to the world around them, and the way they live rather than the obvious. I think our generation is lucky enough to be able to focus on ourselves in a way that is very healthy. I'm also inspired by listening to audio books while driving my car." - from Refinery29

Vintage Atelier | Inspiration for the Studio
Monday, June 4, 2012
This past weekend I visited my friend, Richard, of A Current Affair: Vintage Marketplace at the Cooper Design Space so we could chat a bit about upcoming projects. The Cooper Design Space is home to many, many showrooms in Los Angeles and I've never really bothered to explore any of them. But on Saturday, I did, and I snapped a couple random iphone pics here and there.
And it got me to thinking about my own space... not that I'm not proud of my vintage atelier, it was even featured on Apartment Therapy: Inside the Lovely Studio of Adore(d) Vintage...

But I do want to change it up. It's becoming more and more just a storage space. And while it makes me immensely happy and feel at peace every time I go there, I just want some things to change.
Most of these are from Opening Ceremony Showroom and I do not have nearly the same amount of space...but one can dream, yes?

Mid Century Modern Art & Design Posters
Thursday, April 12, 2012
A couple of weekends ago I visited LACMA's "California Modern" exhibit which features Mid Century fashion, interior design, graphics, art, and architecture. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for mid century modern interiors and art and try to incorporate it into the graphics I design and even my apartment.
I came across these vintage mid century modern posters and prints and absolutely had to share. The colors and shapes are so inspiring!

Shops & Spaces: Hunting & Collecting Shop Space in Belgium
Monday, April 2, 2012
I cam across this sparsely decorated shop space for Belgium based shop, Hunting & Collecting, on The189.com and had to share. As of late I've really felt like I need to eliminate clutter out of my life and these shop photos just give me that sense of peace and calm. I love that it's so sparse yet doesn't feel cold and aloof.

Adventures in Re-Branding Adorevintage
Thursday, December 22, 2011
Life has definitely been crazy this year. And as the year draws to a close I have to take this moment to reflect and recap on the big changes I went through for 2011. Well, I'm not going to recap it here, I'll just skip to the whole point of this post which is the rebranding of Adorevintage, my vintage shop.

Many years ago (well ok, not that long ago) I started Adorevintage because I was running out of closet space and I started on Ebay. Throughout the years I thought it was a good idea to brand AV like it was a bigger company and most people would be so surprised it was only little old me doing everything for the shop. And to this day it STILL is ONLY me. So, I thought, ok...I need to rethink a few things. Not to mention life threw me quite a few curve balls this year and in heart, mind, and body I could not focus on Adorevintage.
So now, that things feel more settled, my feet aren't so shaky to stand on... I can finally focus back on my passion and love for vintage. I definitely will be more true to what Adorevintage is...a vintage clothing shop run by a young woman who is crazy about vintage clothing. Not a corporation, not a business with lots of interns and people doing everything for her... it's a mom and pop without the Mom or the Pop. :) What would you call that?
So above... is the new brand/look inspiration board for Adorevintage. You can already see some of it in action on my blog... but the new site design as well as any media I will be doing will be brand focused. A lot of my inspiration came from this amazing design blog Pugly Pixel. I feel so much more sure about my place in life right now.
What a fantastic feeling to have going into the New Year!

Vintage Inspired Interiors | The Adorevintage Apartment on Apartment Therapy
Wednesday, July 13, 2011
"A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you're fast asleep..." - Cinderella.
I felt it was quite appropriate to quote this song from the 1950 Disney classic film sung by the lovely Ilene Woods because once upon a time being featured in Apartment Therapy was a far fetched dream. And as of this moment I am happy to say that two of my residences have been featured this summer. Ahhh, my little heart does beat so proudly.

So here is where I dwell and where all the pretties from the shop have their temporary home until they make their way into yours. These photos were taken by the lovely Bethany Nauert, who has a really wonderful portfolio with many interiors photography to peruse and admire. You can read the full post on Apartment Therapy: Rodellee's Tiny Vintage Apartment and view even more photos (30+ more actually!)

Favorite quote from the post: "Rodellee has brought her love of nostalgia, antiques, history and storytelling all into this 450 square foot space." - - - Bethany had met me only for a little while and she completely nailed what my home and what I'm all about in a small span of time. Merci beaucoup!
Thank you for visiting, please drop by again!

Design + Vintage: Water Colored Shakespeare + Sheer Floral Vintage Dress

I just love how this watercolor and colored pencil William Shakespeare quote from The Fabled Needle pairs so well with this sheer floral Terrace Blooms vintage dress from Adorevintage.
Design + Vintage: The Pretty Blues
Monday, April 18, 2011
April showers bring...the blues. I don't care much for dreary weather (probably why I've always lived in warm climates!) but I must say, these pretty blue vintage frocks (arriving at Adorevintage soon...) really make me quite happy. Today's weather was rather gloomy, but it did perk up a bit later in the afternoon and I was able to snap some photos of these vintage dresses!
The rain always makes me work a bit slower. Which perhaps is a blessing in disguise as it reminds me to take the day to enjoy a warm cup of black mango tea or savor a grilled chicken salad. Happy Monday everyone!
