Vintage Lingerie Preview

Ladies, Valentine's Day will soon be upon us if mainstream retail America have not knocked you over the head with it yet. Instead of red, pink, and white...why not try French blue, ecru, and antique ivory for Valentine's Day evening wear?

Recently I photographed several antique and vintage lingerie and boudoir evening pieces. I'll be adding these into the shop this week so you'll have it in plenty of time before Valentine's Day!

Vintage Dresses Preview: So Many Frocks!

Last week was spent mostly catching up for AV and my other shop, Orn Hansen. This week was a little more catching up and finally some time to photograph many many vintage dresses for the upcoming weeks! Here is a preview of some of the dresses making their way into the vintage shop soon!

Vintage Jewelry Preview | Pretty Baubles

I don't carry too much vintage jewelry in the shop, but lately I've been spotting a lot of pretty little things during my vintage hunting trips. I have such a soft spot for art deco jewelry, especially the thin delicate sort such as the delicate silver and pink art deco necklace previewed below.

And isn't the bakelite cherry brooch the most darling thing you've ever seen?! It would be so cute pinned on to a peter pan collar blouse or dress!

Darling Jewels | Vintage + Antique Jewelry for the Shop

This afternoon we spent photographing several antique and vintage jewelry pieces for the shop! My favorites are the art deco necklaces and I am most tempted to keep them all for myself! The floral enamel brooches and earrings were all purchased from the same estate and I have to wonder what lovely lady had such a dainty and pretty collection. Vintage Shop Preview | Landscapes

Normally blue and green aren't my favorite colors to list in the vintage clothing shop which is probably why I have so much of it in backstock! However, I do really love the shades of greens and blues (and violet) in this upcoming shop update and it also contains some of my favorite prints, especially the 1940s floral and 1940s green wavy stripes.

These will be in the shop tomorrow!



I've also found a new way to photograph vintage shoes that I really love! Hooray!

Pretty Racks: Antique & Vintage Dresses from the 1900s to the 1940s

If you follow Adored Vintage on Instagram or fan us on Facebook then you've probably seen the flurry of vintage 1930s and vintage 1940s dresses I've been posting! (BTW, Instagram and Facebook are the FIRST places I post previews...*hint hint*) So here is a larger preview of the racks of pretty vintage and antique clothes coming to the shop in the next couple of weeks!


I hadn't realized how much I love cranberry, burgundy, and wine colors until I put these racks together. I'll always love pale pink and peach, but in the colder months I apparently gravitate towards darker versions of my favorite colors. (It only seems natural!)

First Look: Seasonal Blues

Last week was crazy busy. I'm still trying to get into a good schedule for photographing and listing vintage, my rhythm is a bit off, but with a bit more practice, I'll get it down.

Tomorrow I'll be listing all of these lovely shades of blues and peppermint greens in the vintage shop! There's a little dress to wear for every season of the year... so hence the name "Seasonal Blues"

Vintage Shop Preview: Prairie Boheme

It's looking a little boho 1970s up in here! Next week the vintage shop will be getting a couple Gunne Sax dresses and bohemian floral prints rolling in. Stay tuned...

A few years ago I practically lived in Gunne Sax dresses and my big floppy brown hat (and if you're no stranger to my outfit posts, you'll see that it makes an appearance quite often!) so seeing these prairie boho sundresses takes me back to my days living in Texas when the idea for AV started to form in my lil brain. Ahh...time has flown...

Vintage Shop Preview: Autumn Dressing

Here is a first look at the vintage clothes & accessories making its way to the shop this week! I really adore this shop update for some reason and it's probably because I love these colors so much and I love that the prints and textures go with the changing of the seasons. While it's still scorching 90 degree weather in Southern California, I dream of being snuggled up in cozy knits and layering dresses with tights and cardigans.



All of these will be available in the vintage shop tomorrow and later in the week added to the Adored Vintage etsy shop as well.

Vintage Hats Coming Soon to the Shop

This past Saturday I had spent most of my precious studio time sorting through racks of vintage clothing, organizing bins, and the general moving stuff around so I feel more "sorted". Do you ever feel like that? Like you can't POSSIBLY get any work done at all until this, this, and this is done?

It was sweltering hot in my 5th floor sun drenched LA studio and despite all the windows being open (welcoming, or rather NOT welcoming the buzz of the streets below), I was sweating profusely. A lovely image, I know.

I had been staring at a rack of vintage coats for nearly 15 minutes and I just couldn't bring myself to photograph winter coats while perspiring in 90 degree weather. So... what did I shoot instead?

Vintage hats!! During my moving things around I completely had forgotten I had two hat boxes of vintage hats. I did try them on for a bit and dance around to (dare I say...Spice Girls...) wearing these fancy little toppers. So in short...in the shop this week will be a series of lovely vintage hats from the 1930s to the 1970s. Which vintage hat would you wear?

What to Expect in the Vintage Shop This Weekend

Hey vintage gals! I am really super excited about this vintage shop update. Normally blue isn't one of my favorite colors, but paired with black, creams, and more subdued tones I actually quite like it! I have a couple favorite pieces in this update...the pale blue cashmere 1950s cardigan. Gosh, it's just so sweet, isn't it? I would have kept it for myself, but it's a bit too big for me. Oh and I also ADORE the 1960s Emma Domb mod lace dress. It would be the perfect wedding dress for a darling mod bride with a wreath of daisies atop her wind blown locks, don't you agree? All of these will be added to the vintage clothing shop this weekend and you'll be able to shop it on etsy as well!

Vintage 1940s Dresses Coming to the Shop

I was organizing the vintage atelier yesterday and came across some delightful vintage 1940s dresses. The black sequined 1940s rayon dress and the green paisley silk dress were tucked in the back of a garment rack and I had nearly forgotten about them. So, snappity snap some photos I did take...and this week the shop will be getting a mini update of vintage dresses from the 1940s!

Vintage 1930s Lace Gowns | A Shop Preview

This week's shop updates feature some of the loveliest vintage dresses and gowns from the 1920s and 1930s I have in my vintage stock. I've been holding on to these for awhile and to be honest I don't really know why...I just do that sometimes. I don't have anywhere to wear them to, they're not my size... but yet I just like having them hanging around the studio looking all sorts of pretty and dainty. *hehe*



VINTAGE 1930S LACE WEDDING GOWN
This 1930s lace wedding gown is so gorgeous! On a hanger it doesn't look like much, but when it's on...wowee zowee! Some of the lace on the shoulders came apart, but since this dress needs to be worn with something underneath, a stitch here and there should do the trick!



VINTAGE 1930S SHEER RUFFLED GOWN
I've had this dress for over a year. I kept thinking I would wear it somewhere, some kind of garden themed 1930s wedding or something...but alas, such an invitation never arrived in my mailbox...so to the shop this dress goes. It's a rescue piece. The armholes were raw and had to be reinforced. The lace ruffles actually weigh down the chiffon (so if you're a ruffles girl...this dress is for you!)



VINTAGE 1930S BLACK LACE ILLUSION GOWN
When I first spotted this dress again I just fell in love with the black lace (I love lace!) But when I saw it on the form, my jaw literally dropped. It is so much more gorgeous worn than it is just hanging! The back of the dress has the most demure of a bustle...well not sure if bustle is the right word, but you can kind of see the layered lace and how it would create a soft swish swish when you walk.

what a better way to end the month of may than with a plethora of flowers, vintage floral prints, floral embellishments, flowers everywhere! i've finally received my brand new dress form which is a size 2. i have been on a hunt for a vintage dress form that was a size 2 but sadly my search was fruitless. so these hopefully will be the last time you see dresses too small on my vintage dress forms (they won't zip up!)

Vintage Shop Preview | Coming Soon

The vintage shop will soon be getting a much needed vintage clothing shop update this weekend! The new vintage collection will be fresh in starting tomorrow! Lots of floral prints (since I adore florals) and colors centered around green, cream, and black. My personal goal for the shop by the end of May is to have 120 products in the shop! Think I can do it?!?
