vintage clothing shop updates | oh lovely florals!

Thursday, May 31, 2012

what a better way to end the month of may than with a plethora of flowers, vintage floral prints, floral embellishments, flowers everywhere! i've finally received my brand new dress form which is a size 2. i have been on a hunt for a vintage dress form that was a size 2 but sadly my search was fruitless. so these hopefully will be the last time you see dresses too small on my vintage dress forms (they won't zip up!)

all of these lovely vintage clothes will be available in the ADORED | VINTAGE shop by the weekend!

Vintage 1970s Striped Sundress

Monday, December 14, 2009

Licorice Stripe Dress available @ Adorevintage.com
BUY NOW: Licorice Stripes Dress

I love stripes on sundresses. This vintage 1970s dress has contrasting vertical and horizontal stripes with various widths, but in a nice subtle way. I love how this dress could easily go from "Sunday Market" to "First Date" with a change of shoes, accessories, and handbag.

Now & Then: Vintage 1950s Gingham sundress

Monday, December 7, 2009

BUY NOW: "Bettie Frills Dress"

Pretty little vintage 1950s gingham sundress in blue and white. Love the lace ribbon detail encircling the entire dress. I found this little beauty on our way to Sacramento for the Thanksgiving holidays. Unfortunately too big for me, otherwise I would have probably kept it to wear for Spring/Summer.

Wouldn't this be just so darling with little espadrilles and perhaps a contrasting straw belt. Ooo and flowers in your hair and you could pin it up with curls. Ahh, I just love vintage so much, don't you?

Date: 1950s

Vintage find of the day: 1960s Ruffle Secretary Dress

Sunday, December 6, 2009

Product Description:
This is a fun secretary style dress - most likely from the early 60s. It features classic sheath/wiggle styling with ruffled white bib down the bodice. The navy blue fabric is most likely a synthetic, but it looks a little like silk shantung - althought it obviously isn't. Zips up the back with a metal zipper. Looks sweet with a skinny little belt (not included).

Size: Approx M

Where to buy: Redo Redux on Etsy

Ideas on How to Wear Vintage

Vintage in question: Perthsire Dress, 1970s slightly sheer floral print dress

This is one of my favorite dresses in the shop right now dubbed the "Perthshire Dress" because it reminds me of a little frock one might wear if you were vacationing in a Scottish cottage. The colors are sweetly subdued and I love the floral botanical print.

All other images are from polyvore.

Cheap Vintage Find of the Day: 1970s Mushroom Dress

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

How cute is this dress? And even cuter at a sale price of $24.00! I could see this dress worn with black tights and super cute brown oxfords. Or maybe a pair of coganc colored t-strap heels. Hair worn in Heidi braids (because this dress has that folky feel to it) and finish it off with a great modern day leather handbag.

Vintage Find of the Day: 1950s Striped Peter Pan Collar Dress

Today's VFoTD (Vintage Find of the Day) is an adorable vintage 50s striped dress from Santoki Vintage. I especially love the sweet Peter Pan collar and the tiny ruffle detail on the skirt.

Vintage Dresses on Parade...

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Oh goodness the past couple days have been tiring (and a bit of fun). Yesterday I spent about 2 hrs driving around L.A. to go a total of 13 miles? (Maybe it was 15 miles...)

I am not loving the traffic in this city. LOL. Tried to go to Target to grab some shower hooks and spent 10 mins trying to find a spot to park (I'm not the best parallel parker so I will drive around to find a convenient spot!)

The good news is I've got a few new vintage items I'll be putting up later this evening. And I'll finally be getting to shipping out some orders!

Do you like the new vintage dresses coming soon? Holy cow, these dresses are SOOOOO PRETTY! Why aren't I keeping these you asked? Ahh most of the time it's because they don't quite fit me AND my mother taught me well... ONE MUST SHARE! *hehe* So share my lovely finds I must!

I'm a bit bummed the blue "Thumbelina" dress doesn't fit me. I adore it so very much! It's probably a modern day size 4 and looks exactly like something one of my fashion inspirations (Zooey Deschanel) would wear.

Be sure to visit Adorevintage Shop to see more pictures and have a chance to snag one of these lovelies!

Rachel Zoe is Paisley Pretty

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

One of the reasons I adore Rachel Zoe's style so much is she really sticks to what she loves and what looks good on her. And of course, she is also a huge fan of vintage and advocates wearing it on a daily basis (hurrah!)

Here are some pictures of Rachel Zoe at Vogue's 1 Year Anniversary Party For 3.1 Phillip Lim's LA Store wearing a vintage 1970s maxi dress with a lovely paisley and floral print. It has a folky glam feel to it, don't you think? Well actually, I think it's more just folky...but since Rachel Zoe just adds a bit of glam to everything she wears... it becomes folk glam.
